Arrow Funmaker

Arrow Funmaker, an enrolled member of the Ho-Chunk Nation from Black River Falls, Wisconsin (Bear Clan), is the Co-Founder, Co-Owner, and Cultural Programming Director of Thundermaker Wellness Center. Raised in a traditional setting and environment, Arrow’s deep connection to his cultural heritage has shaped his leadership and his ability to facilitate various ceremonies and cultural events.

At the age of 11, Arrow began facilitating sweat lodge ceremonies at the request of his elders and spiritual teachers for youth close to his age. This early involvement in spiritual practices laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to serving his community. Over the years, Arrow expanded his role to include the facilitation of various other ceremonies, becoming a teacher and mentor in these sacred practices.

With more than 16 years of experience in the Behavioral Health field, Arrow’s professional journey began as a Cultural Programming Consultant at a substance abuse treatment center in Tucson, Arizona, where he developed and implemented culturally grounded programming for Indigenous clients. His work also extends to youth in group home settings, where he introduced cultural programming to foster healing, resilience, and a connection to cultural identity.

As Co-Founder and Cultural Programming Director at Thundermaker Wellness Center, Arrow continues to integrate traditional practices into modern therapeutic approaches, empowering individuals to reconnect with their cultural identities while pursuing holistic wellness. His leadership and commitment to cultural healing have profoundly impacted the individuals and communities he serves.
